Ga. Governor Calls for Making Insurance Commissioner Post an Appointed One
ATLANTA – (BestWire) Georgia voters will elect a new insurance commissioner in November -- maybe for the last time.
Gov. Sonny Perdue proposed a constitutional amendment to make the state's four elected constitutional offices, including that of insurance and safety fire commissioner, into appointed positions. The amendment would require legislative approval and adoption by voters through the general election ballot.
